Orchard Park lacrosse players helped the Western team capture the bronze medal in the Empire State Cup at Central Square Stadium in Syracuse on July 26-29.

Western finished pool play with a 2-3 record in the six-team tournament that included squads from the Central, Hudson Valley, Adirondack, Long Island and New York City regions of the state.

Western defeated Long Island, 7-6, to earn bronze while New York City defeated Hudson Valley for gold.

Orchard Park’s John Januszkiewicz (Attack) and Mitch Wilson (Face-off) were named to the all-tournament team. Januszkiewicz led all scorers with 17 goals and 10 assists.
